PAT Testing

Are your tools safe to use on site?Power Tool Sales can help...

To comply with current regulations all portable electrical equipment has to be PAT Tested.

It is the responsibility of all employees and sub contractors to ensure that their equipment has been tested and is in a safe condition to use.

We can either PAT test your equipment in house, at your company premises or on site. We charge £7.50 + VAT per tool. All onsite testing will be quoted in advance, based on the estimated quantity of appliances.

What is PAT Testing?

Portable Appliance Testing (PAT Testing) was introduced to help companies and sub-contractors comply with Electricity Work Regulations. To meet these regulations it is necessary to have in place a program of inspection and electrical safety testing of portable appliances.

This requires electrical equipment to be tested on a periodic basis. The responsibility lies with both companies and all sub-contractors and the Health & Safety at Work Act (1974) places such an obligation in the following circumstances:

  • Where appliances are used by employees.
  • Where the public may use appliances in establishments such as hospitals, schools, hotels and shops.
  • Where appliances are supplied or hired.
  • Where appliances are repaired or serviced.
