How our Contact Repair & Servicing Works:

1. Enquire

To enquire about our contract and repair service, contact us by completing our online form or visit us at our Southampton Showroom: Power Tool Sales Ltd, 504 / 506 Portswood Road, Portswood, Southampton, Hampshire, SO17 3SP

2. Initial Assessment

The main aim of our initial consultation is to establish the individual requirements of the business. During the initial consultation we may ask you the following questions:

  • Do the tools require servicing
  • How many tools do you need repairing/ servicing?
  • What applications are the tools used for?
  • Do your tools require hand arm vibration testing?

If are unsure and you think your tools may need to be HAV tested, we can carry out sample tests to a selection of tools either on site or in our fully equipped workshops. We will then create a written report based on the results obtained and provide recommendations where possible.

3. Obtaining a Tool Inventory or Asset List

Information contained within a tool inventory or asset list will help us identify the tools that may require servicing and repair. For an asset list to be effective, it should contain the following information:

  • Make of the tool
  • Model or part number of the tool
  • Tool I.D number

If you don’t have an asset list, but would like to create one, you can obtain a sample asset list by downloading one from our blog here or alternatively you can send us yours in advance by emailing us at:

4. Service Contract Quotation

Depending on the individual requirements of your business we will produce a written quotation. Service contracts are usually set between 6 – 12months. These are individually tailored to each organisation depending on your specific requirements, the production process and the number of tools that require repair, servicing and testing.

5. Service Level Agreement

Upon receiving a formal acceptance of our quote, we are able to produce a service level agreement or SLA. This document would typically outline a servicing schedule for the tools, collection and delivery arrangements for the tools, duration of the contract and a financial forecast.

6. Tool Asset Management Area Created

If you choose to use our tool asset tracking and management system, the Tool Cloud, this will be set up and details will be provided. We will create an asset list which you will be able to access and will be continuously updated to reflect your current tooling situation.

7. Repairs and Testing Begin

The agreed repair and serving contract can now be rolled out at this stage. Your tools will be delivered to our fully equipped workshops where they are thoroughly inspected, repaired and HAV tested. The tools are then packaged safely and securely, often in wooden crates which are then delivery back to your premises or site.

Tool Box Talks

We can arrange on site visits where our specialists accompanied by representatives from manufacturers come and discuss with you your tooling requirements. This can range from how to use the tools properly on a specific application, best practice on looking after your tool to avoid any unnecessary damage and ensuring everybody knows the dangers that can arise from using the tools without the proper safe guards being adhered to. These talks are used to offer an understanding of the tool and to ensure the correct tools are being used against the application.

We can also give advice on how to use the tool with the correct accessory to minimize the vibration the operator is exposed to.

Manufacturers Tours and Demonstrations

In many cases we can arrange manufacturer demonstrations. By directly liaising with manufacturer representatives, we have access to a vast knowledge base of technical expertise and experience. As a conscientious independent distributor, our aim is to ensure the correct product is supplied for the application required.
